We're finally in the middle of summer, but you can't tell if you live on the Monterey Peninsula! We're in the midst of "June gloom" for the summer. I envy those of you that live in the sunshine at this time of year!

We have DJ Designs in our Trunk Show Gallery for the month of July. featuring our own local artist, Kathy Sharpe. Please come in and take a look at the variety of canvases we have available.

Are you running out of things to do with your child or grandchild this summer? Why not give Caitlin a call and schedule a lesson for them. We have some new Kid Friendly kits available.

Since it is the middle of the year now, what about starting on a Christmas stocking for someone you love? We have a nice variety available, and we can always order one if you find it elsewhere.

Also, just a reminder that our Christmas fabrication deadline is September 15th.

Private Lessons from Caitlin Greenlee

From now and continuing through Summer, Stitches by the Bay is offering instruction in Beginning and Intermediate Needlepoint with our own Caitlin Greenlee. Geared for ages pre-teen through young adult, these sessions will teach all the basics to get you started on the road to needlepoint expertise. Of course, all ages are welcome to take advantage of this learning opportunity at the great low price of $25 for children, $35 for adults!

Ready to move beyond the basics? Private lessons with our in-house teacher, June McKnight are also available st $65 per session.

WEDNESDAY STITCH PARTIES

Our stitch parties are a great time to drop in. From 10 - 2, just sit and stitch, chat and have lunch. There's always a positive atmosphere and friendly people
to share a chuckle or an idea with.

Frugal Friday Classes

Join us for our new Frugal Friday classes! We're offering a fantastic selection of workshops at great prices throughout the Fall and Winter months, from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m on the dates listed below. All classes will be $20 (due upon registration and non-refundable) plus a small materials fee.

Tools of the Trade: get an opportunity to try out the newest and best tools of our industry. Come and test drive these items and then hint to your favorite Santa! New date to be announced.

Our Over-dye Party was a Big Hit!

January 23rd was a special day at Stitches by the Bay. Not only did we enjoy a full day of stitching with some fantastic fibers, we got to celebrate the premiere of June McKnight's newest book, Colorful Stitches for Over-dye Threads.

With instruction from June in the use of these delightful threads, attendees were able to expand their needlepoint repertoires in a fun, informative class, as well as have their own copies of the handy flip-book signed by the author herself. To top it all off, we were treated to a special cake provided by our own personal bakery, Catie.Bop Confections.

All of June's books, on topics ranging from stitches for children, Bargello, special backgrounds and much more, are available from our store. Give us a call or pick one up the next time you stop in, and enhance your instructional library with these invaluable resources for the avid stitcher!

Kit price - $275.00

Pre-registration for classes is necessary and a class fee is required at the time of registration. Should cancellation be necessary, a refund can only be given if a replacement student can be found. The number of participants in a workshop is limited to six allowing for very personalized instruction. Workshops are scheduled for three hours, but should enrollment be less than six students, the number of class hours may be shortened. Large personal sacks of threads can no longer be accommodated. Students are encouraged to pre-select project threads from their personal stash prior to class or better yet, allow June to make creative choices from Stitches by the Bay's outstanding thread collection during the workshop. This will enhance the creative process for all.
